But I question whether Leno has had a "middling career" as a two-decade host of The Tonight Show. We may think he's a disaster, but he has dominated the 11:30-1am slot in the ratings since '95 and including among the 18-49 set, from everything I'm reading on the web. So I can see how the suits might think he'd just bring his audience w/him. But I think up against the 10 pm shows on the other channels, it's a whole different ball game. The best prime time programming is on at that hour. I can see if they'd thrown him in at 8pm as a warm-up act for the 9 &amp; 10pm shows. But 10pm? I find this really foolhardy. But what the h*** do I know? Thank you for saying it - I know it has been a busy news week, but I have seen no commentary at all about this. Worst idea ever. I can promise NBC I will not watch even one installment of this show, not even out of morbid curiosity. I have not watched one installment of Leno's Tonight show either.
