He had two of the most famous TV appearences any writer ever had. The first when he upstaged Mailer and said famously about Kerouac "That's not writing, that's just typing..." So many modern movie actors are basically models with some talent - good-looking blank canvasses. Heather Graham is the perfect example here - she's been dreadful many times, and occasionally perfect and wonderful.&lt;br&gt;Also, pure realism is repellent.
