Personal taste, of course, but the sheer audacity of eking out that piece and launching it on the world is astonishing.

I, too, am devoted to her work!

Re: I Love Joni

V, you hipped me to Hejira but even so I've not taken to Joni as many have. It's not dislike in any way -- I just need to find my hook. It's there somewhere.

Problem is, I listen to so much stuff that some artists are simply crowded off the schedule. I will renew my efforts in the Mitchell area.

Re: I Love Joni

Viscount,

You may indeed love Joni, but unfortunately, she loves Chachi.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Great post. Big fan of her music.

Re: I Love Joni

If you haven't read it yet then you must rush to

http://motorcycleaupairboy.com/interviews/1997/...

and read Morrissey's interview with Joni Mitchell.
Priceless.

"And don't forget the songs that you made you cry/and the songs that saved your life/yes you're older now and you're a clever swine/ but they were the only ones who ever stood by you..."

Re: I Love Joni

Still a great post, Viscount. I remember it and can't believe it's going on two years since I first read it. You know I love Joni, too. Especially Blue.
Age, kids, and cops will do that to you I guess.

:)
