Dan, You are started. I don't know who got you started, but you're way too far gone to turn back. Only way out--that I can see anyway--is for you to throw a big virtual party. You play DJ. Put up a favorite clip once a week and everyone responds in his or her fashion.
Those with video phones (of which I'm not) can send in clips of their dancing, lip-syncing selves; the rest of us can Boo or Swoon or describe in ecstatic detail what the singers and the songs do to us.
Then, too, newcritics houses some terrific contemporary singers complete with their own bands. Someone like you might give 'em a push.

Damn, we left out James Brown and Cat Stevens? But of course this could go on forever. We haven't even mentioned Sky Saxon of the Seeds, for Christ's sake.
