    Claire, the second season of Extras came out on DVD while I was on vacation, otherwise I'd have watched all of it by now. Great show. Can't wait for the first disc to arrive from Netflix.

    I'm glad you took on the Emmy watch. I think the Emmy nominations have followed the Nielson ratings for years now. Nominations seem to be based on the premise that the Emmy show should be a celebration of what's already popular.

    Do the Emmy nominations follow ratings? Does Two and a Half Men do that well? It just makes me sad, because the industry is so conservative that awarding shows that move backwards or stagnate does nothing to make the medium more relevant.

    Claire- if in the right mood, I can love shows I hate... and watch them, hate shows I love... and watch them... and everything in between. Right now I could use a big dose of Tim Gunn, but apparently he's not due back until the end of 2007.

    I tend to lump awards together. I despise the Oscars, Emmies, People's Choice, SAG and Olympics.

    I am so elitist I try to only watch shows that have been cancelled.

    What will it take for the Emmys to acknowledge the existence of THE WIRE? And where was the SHIELD? OR DEADWOOD? Michael C. Hall and Elizabeth Mitchell?
