I never watched the cartoon, and it sounds like the movie would make me motion-sick... I saw it in an empty theater (like I was literally &lt;a href="http://www.chutry.wordherders.net/wp/?p=1914" rel="nofollow"&gt;the only person&lt;/a&gt; in the theater), so it was hard for me to develop a lot of the excitement for the film that some people have described.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;But when I hear someone like Armond White say that &lt;i&gt;Speed Racer&lt;/i&gt; is "killing cinema," then I have to wonder if it's not actually reinventing it.  I actually appreciated the avant-garde elements of the visual design--it was as if Peter Greenaway had made an action film--very strange, very surreal, and I think my ten-year old self would have appreciated the aesthetics as well.</description><dc:creator xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Chuck Tryon</dc:creator><pubDate>Thu, 15 May 2008 10:49:44 -0000</pubDate></item></channel></rss>
